A truly Italian story that comes to life once more in the heart of an ancient Alpine pasture.
We’re in Bardonecchia, at an altitude of 1,700 metres, on the Jafferau side,
where flower-filled meadows alternate with majestic snow-capped peaks.
The tranquillity of nature blends with the cosiness of home.
Meticulous design details enhance the original architecture.
From the selection of materials and fabrics made in Italy,
behind every choice lies a promise of
genuine hospitality and attention to detail.
In the cosy atmosphere of this chalet in the Alps, you can rediscover
true Alpine luxury.
The quality of shared moments,
the freedom to experience the mountains in their purest form.
Welcome to Baita Horres.
Outside, the tranquillity of the forest and the rustic atmosphere of the mountain barns. Inside, stone, wood, hand-crafted surfaces, and carefully selected furnishings. The chalet is spread over two levels: the main floor is built around the kitchen and the fireplace. The attic is the space where life slows down amidst reading, films, and simply doing nothing.
The heart of the chalet beats in the living area: the kitchen. Here, we spend time together, make breakfast at a leisurely pace, sit and chat. The smell of bread, the steam rising from the pot, the voices around the large cedar wood table. There’s no need to rush when it comes to precious moments.
Half board and full board are available on request.
The large terrace looks out directly onto the Alpine meadows. In summer, you can eat out, read in the sun on deckchairs, and light the barbecue. In winter, the landscape is blanketed in white and the Norwegian hot tub becomes the best place to gaze at the stars whilst basking in the warmth of the water.
Bardonecchia lies at the junction of four valleys in the Upper Val di Susa valley, the furthest corner of Italy before France. In winter, you can ski on 100km of slopes through larch forests. In summer, you can walk along trails ranging from 1,300 to 3,500 metres in altitude, taking in mountain pastures, Alpine lakes, and 19th-century forts.
If you’d like any advice on activities and experiences, please speak to the chalet manager.
Baita Horres has no reception desk and no fixed opening hours. Our presence is unobtrusive, our attention constant. We listen before we make suggestions; we observe before we organise. Everything is tailored to your own pace, your own wishes, and the way you want to experience the mountains.
